FAQ
Requirements for applicants and the selection process
- In what year of my university studies can I start working for BDO in Russia?
We have no particular preference within the two-tier higher education system (i.e. Bachelor’s versus Master’s degrees) and welcome primarily graduates and undergraduates who are prepared to work full-time. Employment terms and conditions are discussed individually with each applicant, so part-time work is also a possibility in cases where an applicant shows particularly high promise, subject to partner approval.
- If I fail at my first attempt to pass the test and interview, can I try again? If yes, how soon after the first attempt?
You can make a new attempt to pass our test and interview after six months.
- What is included in the test?
Our test has been designed, in particular, to assess the quality of your theoretical training (in your chosen field), and also to check your knowledge of English and IQ.
Employment terms and conditions
- What kind of a contract do I sign with the employer?
A labour contract for an indefinite period
- How is staff training organised within the company?
The BDO Learning centre develops continuous training programs for employees of all levels, across all business lines. Training is offered across a comprehensive range of required knowledge – from advanced knowledge of MS Office applications to the implementation of new techniques and knowledge within the employee's specialisation.
- Does the company run any corporate events?
Joint staff outings, training courses, sports competitions and many other events are held on a regular basis. BDO in Russia HR management focuses strongly on the development of our corporate culture, as new employees find it much easier to get to know their colleagues and to understand our traditions and values in an informal environment.
- Would it be possible for me to be transferred to a different practice in the future? Is it possible to transfer from one industry team to another within the audit practice?
We welcome our employees’ desire to find an area where they can put their skills and expertise to the best possible use. However, we would recommend all applicants to think extremely carefully about their selection of a specialisation for their future career, because employees with an extensive track record and industry experience enjoy significant career advantages in certain areas.
- What will my workplace look like?
BDO Group companies practice an open plan approach to office space. Each employee has his/her own workplace, but this is located within a larger working area. This approach simplifies cross-functional interactions and considerably improves communication between individual employees.
- What dress code is practiced within the company?
BDO in Russia is an international company. Therefore, we adhere to European corporate dress code standards, which require business clothing for all employees.
